If that makes sense. Comment by Allakhazam This elder looks like a dwarf, and is deep inside the instance itself. He is kind of near where Rotgrip the giant croc is. If you jump down to Rotgrip's pool, then swim east, you'll find a tunnel. Follow the tunnel in to a path, then up the path past some snakes and other stuff. The elder is up at the top of the path. Comment by Djeena Went to see the elder this morning and thought I'd add a few things for us "dummies".
Enter through the gate to Maraudon and follow the path into the maze. If you're high level you'll easily avoid the ghosts of centaurs past, and if you're low level you'll get experience from killing them. You will soon come to a junction of three paths; choose the middle way guarded by two centaur statues. At the end of your chosen path there will be a small cul de sac with a portal to "inner Maraudon".
Hit the portal and voila! You're inside the instance. You are now on top of a waterfall in the second to last part of the instance. By the way, since I did Maraudon again for the first time since Cataclysm I got an automatic quest for killing the princess. When you get to the bridge leading to the Princess, there are two stone giants on either side of the bridge. When facing the first two, there is a ledge to the left that you can jump down onto.

This is the same place as where Rotgrip, the optional crocodile boss, is. Then just swim east, exit the water and follow the tunnel till you see him.

He is just past the bridge to Zetar's grave, in the far South-East of the dungeon. Comment by Werdz Best way to get out is to die Comment by shadowtwinX After spending over an hour trying to find this guy, I overlayed the Maraudon maps for anyone like me who was having a problem finding the way to the correct part of the dungeon more than finding the elder himself.
The elder is marked with a star, the location of the character cursor is where the map changes. Comment by xDio64x Another way out is to have someone invite you to a group or invite someone and make them leader then leave the group. You'll get a notification that you're not in the group any more and that you will be teleported out of the instance. Wait through the countdown and you get booted to the nearest graveyard without having to die.

Comment by sailornaru I think the only thing I could add is by saying right when you go into the dungeon, the place the where oozes are at, don't forget you have to go to the left side of the map to enter the area of the floor map where the elder is at yes he is close to where the hydra is at, but there's no need to fight her.
Basically, the thing that confuses me about Maraudon is that the dungeon has like 3 levels to it, and there is little indication that you have to go through the room with the oozes and stick to the left side of the map to even zone into the final area of the map.
Out of all the elders I had to find, this elder was indeed the most annoying to find. If the map was better at listing where the final zone point is, that would helped greatly. Found the elder by following the one for patch 4. Down by princess and rotgrip. East and then up the ramp. Since the floors aren't directly above each other, that won't work.
Comment by solitha Druids, Monks, and Death Knights can use their class teleports ie, Teleport: Moonglade for Druids to return to a spot near the door.
Just use the teleport twice. The best way to get to Elder Splitrock is to jump into the water after the endboss Princess Theradras and swim through the tunnel at the end. You can also let all the bosses out and jump directly into the water or onto the bridge before the endboss. The elder can only be seen during the Lunar Festival.
